The Peak District Is an Ideal Escape Location
The Peak District is an ideal escape from the tensions and strains of urban day to day life. If you are from Sheffield or Manchester, it’s reachable within an hour going by train or car and a fantastic pick for a one or two day break, or even longer. If you’re coming from a place further away, we recommend you stay about a week as there’s much to get up to in the Peak area.
Many travellers relate the Peak District with summer holidays, yet it’s glorious the entire year, and in no other area of the UK is the season’s change more emphasised than in the Peak area.
As mentioned previously, there’s much to get up to in the Peak area. The glorious hillsides tempt travellers out of their cottages and into their walking boots, and there’s lots of trails to tramp – as many as 30 clearly marked routes.
There’s also a lot of areas to go fishing in and around the Peak District, in particular Ladybower. If you’re not into physical activities, try Buxton for something to eat in one of their many pubs, and a walk in their pavilion gardens, or even the opera (yes, Buxton has its own Opera house). Lastly the Castleton and Hathersage in the Hope Valley which are glorious and well worth the visit.
How can one locate accommodation in the Peak area? We strongly recommend hiring cottages in the Peak District. That way you have the privacy of your own space, and the opportunity to unwind with your family and friends in a comfy environment. The best place to find cottages is to go online and search.
