I never had a $20.00 dollar meal in Korea unless that would be the equivalent for the early Thanksgiving Dinner we were served before going on the line.

Mostly, we ate C-Ration.

Well, there was some left over C-Rations because most of us only wanted the fruit, the candy, the sausage patties, and the beans and franks. (Many of us have had bypass surgery and some, like me, valve replacement.)

The rest of the C-Ration we gave to the original Halliburton type of employees, Korean boys (who became good friends) that lugged up the mountain our C-rations, ammunition, water, and whatever we really had to have.
